This feature was commonly reserved to Microsoft Word users when writing reports and things that needed insertion of some special characters like money symbols.
Now you can easily type those gender and sex related, copyright and trademark, monetary and financial and accented English and other language characters from your browser onto your email message or facebook or youtube or any other social site that supports html and symbols.
It's very simple. Here is how you do it.
If you are using a Desktop computer (for laptop users, read the note below)
- Click on the NumLock key to put it ON.
- While holding down on the ALT key, press on the number(s) via your the Numbers Keypad.
- After pressing a number(s) release BOTH the ALT key and Number key at once. A mistake many people do and wonder why there is no symbol showing is keeping on holding the ALT key instead of releasing it together with the typed (last typed) Number key. You should release them simultaneously.

NOTE FOR LAPTOP USERS:
If you are using a Laptop computer, Press on the blue (or orange) Fn key to switch your laptop's keyboard into a NumLock ON mode (to switch to OFF mode just Press on the blue or orange key again). You can also Press Fn and ALT and NumberKey, then let go.
If for some reasons you don't get some numbers to show any character, try using the inbuilt virtual keyboard by Microsoft called 'on-screen keyboard'.
To find and use the virtual keyboard, click on the start (windows icon) on your computer (it's on the bottom left hand corner) then in the search box (or run), type in this: osk or this: on-screen keyboard
When it shows up, click on it to launch.
Click on the Alt key followed by the Number
Click on the Alt key again (after you have selected the number(s) in order to achieve the simultaneous release functionality). This will create the symbols/characters.
Looking for an easy shortcut? Just COPY and PASTE.
That's really all that is to it. OK now, go on show it off on your page or comment section of somebody's page.
