To enjoy this feature, you need to enable the Email Notification feature in your Facebook account. Email notifications allows you to know when people interact with you on your profile, whether through Wall posts, Comments, Photo, Notes and Video tags or Friend requests so that you are aware of what is happening even when you are not logged in on Facebook.
To enable email notifications, this is what you do
- Login to your Facebook account
- Click the "Settings " tab (located on the right upper corner of the page)
- Click on the 'Notification' tab
- Here you will see a list of actions, put a check-mark next to each of the action you want to be notified about.(If you would not want any notification in some actions, like when people poke you or invite you to join groups, events etc. then leave the specific boxes unchecked).
From now on, you will receive notifications via the inbox of the email address you have signed up with.
NOTE: If you want to change the email address associated with your account, go back to the "Settings" tab and clicko on the "Email" tab, then put whatever address you prefer to receive notification with. You can keep more than one email address or delete whichever you want to delete. If you choose to keep more than one email address, the notifications will be sent to the address you designate as your "Contact Email".
