The institutes of bankers in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya have jointly organized a regional conference commonly known as East African Banking School will also provide a forum to discuss issues relevant to them.
Tanzania Institute of Bankers (TIB)’s Executive Director, Cashmir Nyoni said in Dar es Salaam last week, the banking school serves as a forum where bankers from the region discuss a range of issues that impact on their careers and financial services in general.
“This is an opportunity for learning, interaction and networking with colleagues and experts from across the region and beyond,” Nyoni said.
Nyoni said the major objective of the school is to raise the level of knowledge, competence, professionalism, integrity, trust and confidence in delivery of financial services. He said the theme for this year’s school is ‘Creating and Sustaining a Progressive Financial services Environment’.
Based on this theme, he said, eight papers have be selected to be presented by qualified and experienced bankers from East Africa region. One being, to harness the full potential of the human resources in financial services, he said this paper will discuss the importance of having a sound human resource in the most critical factor. ---BusinessWeek.com
